Midsize SUVs the next 8 to 12 weeks are about to flip the midsize SUV game upside down. Mahindra is swinging hard with pure electric power, Tata is cashing in on nostalgia and heritage, Maruti is finally jumping into the battery club, and Renault is dusting off one of its legendary badges with fresh fire. By the first quarter of next year, the segment will feel like a completely different playground. Here are the five confirmed beasts dropping soon that every gearhead needs on his radar:
1. Mahindra XEV 9S
Mahindra is firing the opening shot before this month ends with the XEV 9S โ their first ground-up electric three-row monster riding on the INGLO dedicated EV chassis. The look screams future: sharp lines inspired by the XUV.e8 concept, a coast-to-coast LED strip, and the bold Twin Peaks logo dominating the nose. Step inside and youโre greeted by luxury โ massive glass roof, three giant screens stitched together, and Level 2 driver assists watching your back. Real-world range? North of 500 kilometers on one charge, plus it can juice up other gadgets with two-way charging.
2. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is making its boldest move in years with the e Vitara โ a proper five-seat electric SUV built on a purpose-made EV floorpan. Youโll get two battery sizes to pick from, and the bigger pack should comfortably cross the 500-kilometer mark. Engineered for India and export markets alike, expect Maruti to price it sharp enough to make rivals sweat.
3 & 4. Tata Sierra (Petrol and Electric Versions)
Tata is bringing back the Sierra name on November 25 โ the SUV that defined an era โ and itโs guaranteed to spark conversations at every chai stall. Slotting neatly between the Curvv and Harrier, you can have it with old-school petrol or cutting-edge electric heart. The gasoline model packs Tataโs 1.5-liter turbo mill pumping out around 168 horsepower and 280 Newton-meters of twist. Go electric and youโre looking at over 500 kilometers of silent range. The battery version lands a couple of months after the ICE launch.

5. Next-Gen Renault Duster
Renault is staging a full-on comeback with the all-new Duster built on the flexible CMF-B architecture. Exterior gets a muscular refresh, stance is wider and meaner, and the cabin finally feels 21st century โ big touchscreen, smart connectivity, and a safety suite that actually impresses. Power choices include punchy turbo petrol and clever hybrid setups. Renaultโs ace? Heavy local production at the Chennai factory to keep the sticker price wallet-friendly.
