The mid-size SUV category is exploding in popularity across India right now. Hyundai’s Creta still tops the sales leaderboard, but a wave of exciting newcomers is gearing up from brands like Maruti Suzuki, Renault, Nissan, Mahindra, Kia, and Tata Motors. Maruti just rolled out the Victoris as their latest entry in this hot space. Here’s a rundown of six brand-new mid-size SUVs set to arrive between 2025 and 2026.
1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is stepping into the electric vehicle arena with its debut battery-powered SUV, slated for release in India this December 2025. The e Vitara made its first appearance at the Bharat Mobility Expo held in 2025. Assembly lines are already humming at the company’s plant in Hansalpur, Gujarat. Buyers can choose between two battery sizes: a 49 kWh pack or a larger 61 kWh one, where the bigger option promises roughly 500 kilometers of driving on one full charge. For the local market, it will come solely with two-wheel drive.

2. Tata Sierra
Tata’s long-teased Sierra is finally landing in India on November 25. This model will offer both electric and traditional fuel variants. A close-to-final prototype stole the show at the 2025 Auto Expo. Word is the version with internal combustion engines arrives first next month, while the fully electric edition follows into showrooms around January 2026. Power comes from gasoline or diesel choices, potentially introducing a fresh 1.5-liter turbocharged direct injection engine. Peek inside, and you’ll spot a sleek three-display dashboard arrangement captured in recent undercover photos.
3. Renault Duster
Renault has locked in the rollout date for the completely refreshed Duster in India: January 26, 2026. Built on the versatile CMF-B architecture, this next-generation ride should pack a 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline motor delivering 154 horsepower and 250 Newton-meters of twist. The team is also exploring a homegrown hybrid setup tailored for this SUV. Visually, it will mirror the global version closely, but expect a few tweaks suited just for Indian buyers.

Sales are projected to kick off early in 2026. Engine-wise, it borrows the Duster’s 1.3-liter turbo petrol, cranking out 154 horsepower and 250 Newton-meters of torque. Nissan says the styling draws cues from their top-tier Patrol model.
5. Mahindra XEV 7e
Mahindra plans to introduce the XEV 7e in India during the opening months of next year. This electrified take on the XUV700 marks the first affordable all-electric SUV with room for seven passengers. Riding on the INGLO framework, it uses battery options of 59 kWh or 79 kWh shared with siblings like the XEV 9e and BE 6, boasting more than 600 kilometers of range per charge. The interior features a connected trio of screens. Rear-wheel drive is the default setup, though an all-wheel drive choice might join the lineup at launch.
