Honda has rolled out exciting price reductions for its popular 300cc motorcycles, the CB300F and CB300R, making them more affordable than ever in India. Thanks to the new GST 2.0 tax structure, the tax rate on motorcycles under 350cc has dropped from 28% to 18%. This change has significantly lowered the ex-showroom prices of both models, offering great value to riders.

CB300R: Affordable Neo-Retro Style

The CB300R, Hondaโ€™s stylish neo-retro bike, now costs just Rs. 2.19 lakh (ex-showroom) after a price cut of Rs. 21,000. A couple of years back, Honda had already reduced its price by Rs. 37,000 through local manufacturing, bringing it down from Rs. 2.77 lakh to Rs. 2.40 lakh. With the latest GST revision, the CB300R is now Rs. 31,000 cheaper than the Triumph Speed 400 and Rs. 37,000 less than the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450. Itโ€™s also only Rs. 2,000 less expensive than the TVS Apache RTR 310, making it a strong contender in the premium motorcycle segment.

CB300F: Budget-Friendly Powerhouse

The CB300F, Hondaโ€™s bold streetfighter, has seen an even more dramatic price drop. Originally priced at Rs. 2.29 lakh, it struggled with slow sales, leading to heavy dealer discounts in 2022. In 2023, Honda officially lowered its price to Rs. 1.70 lakh. Now, with the GST 2.0 benefits, the CB300F is available at an unbeatable Rs. 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable it has ever been. This price point positions it as a fantastic option for riders seeking performance on a budget.

Performance and Features

The CB300R is powered by a 286cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 31.13 PS at 9,000 rpm and 27.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. It comes with a smooth six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch for seamless gear shifts. The bike features a lightweight diamond-type frame, upside-down forks, dual-channel ABS, and a sleek round LED headlamp. Weighing only 146 kg with an 801 mm seat height, itโ€™s agile and easy to handle, perfect for urban riders and enthusiasts alike.

The CB300F, on the other hand, sports a 293.5cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine, delivering 24.1 PS at 7,500 rpm and 25.6 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Like the CB300R, it has a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. Its suspension setup includes USD forks in the front and a monoshock at the rear, paired with dual-channel ABS for safety. At 153 kg and with a lower 789 mm seat height, the CB300F is slightly heavier but more accessible to a broader range of riders. Its aggressive design, split seats, and full LED lighting add to its bold street presence.

These Bikes Stand Out

The CB300R is now a top pick for riders who love neo-retro styling without breaking the bank. Its lightweight build and premium features make it a strong rival to pricier competitors. Meanwhile, the CB300F offers muscular looks and solid performance at a budget-friendly price, appealing to those who want a powerful yet affordable ride. With the GST 2.0 reforms, Honda has made these motorcycles incredible value-for-money options in the Indian market.
