Yamaha has introduced an exciting addition to its renowned FZ series in the Indian market with the arrival of the FZ-Rave model, available at an introductory price of Rs. 1,17,218 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new entry aims to captivate riders seeking a blend of style, performance, and everyday practicality in the competitive commuter segment.

Striking Design Elements and Aesthetics

The FZ-Rave boasts a bold and dynamic appearance designed to turn heads on the road. At the front, it features a sharp full-LED projector headlight paired with a built-in daytime running light for enhanced visibility and a modern vibe. The fuel tank has been artistically shaped with decorative air intakes that add to its muscular profile. Complementing this are a streamlined muffler and a slim rear end that contribute to its sporty silhouette.

Riders can choose from two sophisticated color schemes: Matte Titan for a subtle yet premium look and Metallic Black for a sleek, urban edge. The bike includes a comfortable one-piece saddle, ensuring a pleasant experience for both the rider and pillion during daily commutes or longer journeys.

Powerful Engine Specifications and Efficiency

Under the hood, the FZ-Rave is equipped with a reliable 149 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke SOHC powerplant featuring advanced fuel injection. This setup delivers a peak output of 12.4 PS at 7,250 revolutions per minute and 13.3 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm, mated to a smooth five-speed gearbox.

Engineered for consistent power delivery and optimal fuel economy, this motor provides responsive acceleration suitable for city traffic and highway cruising. It complies with E20 ethanol-blended fuel norms, promoting eco-friendliness without compromising on performance.

Robust Chassis, Suspension, and Braking System

Built on a sturdy diamond-style frame, the FZ-Rave offers stability and agility in various riding conditions. The front suspension utilizes a telescopic fork for smooth handling over bumps, while the rear employs a swingarm configuration for balanced ride quality.

Safety is prioritized with hydraulic disc brakes on both wheels, supported by a single-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) to prevent skidding during sudden stops. The motorcycle rolls on tubeless tires sized 100/80-17 at the front and 140/60-17 at the rear, providing excellent grip and durability.

Dimensions, Weight, and Practical Features

In terms of size, the FZ-Rave stretches 1,990 mm long, 780 mm wide, and 1,080 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 1,330 mm for nimble maneuverability. It maintains a user-friendly seat height of 790 mm, making it accessible for a diverse range of riders. Ground clearance stands at 165 mm to handle uneven surfaces, and the kerb weight is a lightweight 136 kg for easy handling.

The fuel reservoir holds 13 liters, offering decent range for extended rides. Additional conveniences include a fully digital dashboard displaying essential information like speed, engine rpm, fuel level, and time. Full LED illumination, an electric starter, and a dependable 12V 3.0Ah battery round out the package for hassle-free operation.
