The battle for dominance in India’s mid-size SUV market reached fever pitch in October 2025. Established giants faced fierce challenges from fresh faces, yet a handful of proven winners kept their grip on the leaderboard. Hyundai’s Creta once again claimed the crown, edging out Mahindra’s Scorpio lineup while newcomer Maruti Suzuki Victoris stunned the industry with a blockbuster launch performance.
Hyundai Creta Remains the Undisputed King
Hyundai sold 18,381 units of the Creta last month, marking a solid five percent growth from October 2024’s 17,497 units. Buyers continue to flock to this Korean crossover for its blend of sharp styling, feature-packed cabin, and reliable performance across city streets and highways alike.
Mahindra Scorpio Duo Delivers Consistent Power
Right on Creta’s tail, Mahindra moved 18,107 Scorpio vehicles โ combining both Classic and N variants. This represented a robust 14 percent increase over the previous year’s 15,877 units. The Scorpio’s rugged construction and imposing road presence keep it as a favorite among those who prioritize toughness and capability.
Maruti Suzuki Victoris Explodes onto the Scene
The biggest headline came from Maruti Suzuki’s brand-new Victoris, which registered 13,496 units in its very first full sales month. Starting from zero last year, this immediate success reflects pent-up demand, with over 25,000 bookings already in the bank. Families appreciate its petrol and hybrid engine options plus top-tier safety ratings โ five stars in both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP tests.
Toyota Hyryder Surges with Hybrid Appeal
Toyota dispatched 11,555 Hyryder crossovers, more than doubling last October’s 5,449 units for a whopping 112 percent year-over-year gain. The model’s advanced strong-hybrid system attracts eco-conscious drivers who want fuel savings without sacrificing everyday practicality.
