October 2025 turned out to be one of the strongest months for the Indian two-wheeler market in recent times. A perfect storm of good monsoon rains, the festive season, and the new lower GST rate of 18 % (down from 28 %) on all bikes and scooters up to 350 cc pushed buyers into showrooms like never before. Total sales of the top 10 models crossed 14.67 lakh units โ thatโs a solid 2.6 % jump compared to October 2024 and even a slight improvement over September 2025.
Hereโs how the leaderboard looked last month:
- Hero Splendor โ 3,40,131 units
The king refused to give up the crown, but it did lose some ground. Sales dropped 13.15 % from last yearโs 3.91 lakh units. Even after the dip, Splendor still commands almost one-fourth (23.17 %) of the entire top-10 pie. - Honda Activa โ 3,26,551 units
The scooter that never seems to age just keeps climbing. A massive 22.4 % year-on-year jump pushed Activa dangerously close to the Splendor. Honda also celebrated selling 35 million Activas since the nameplate began (though the company quietly stopped making the Activa Electric because of unsold stock). - Honda Shine โ 1,74,615 units
The 125 cc commuter saw an 11 % decline compared to October 2024, yet it easily held on to the third spot. - Bajaj Pulsar โ 1,52,996 units
The biggest percentage winner of the month. Pulsar sales shot up by a whopping 36.8 % โ adding over 41,000 extra units in a single month. Clearly, the sporty styling and new 250/400 updates are working. - TVS Jupiter โ 1,18,888 units
Another scooter that rode the festive wave perfectly, posting an 8.4 % growth and crossing the 1.18 lakh mark. - Hero HF Deluxe โ 1,13,998 units
The ultra-affordable rural favourite slipped 8.3 % but still managed six-figure sales. - Suzuki Access 125 โ 70,327 units
Down 6 % from last year; the only major scooter besides HF Deluxe to see red numbers. - TVS Apache โ 61,619 units
Up a healthy 23 % โ the Apache series (especially the RTR 160/200 models) is quietly gaining a lot of fans. - TVS Raider โ 56,085 units
The stylish 125 cc newcomer grew almost 10 % and is now a regular top-10 fixture. - Bajaj Platina โ 52,734 units
The only model besides Splendor to see a double-digit percentage drop (-14.5 %), yet it hung on to the last spot.

Quick Takeaways from October 2025
- Scooters are back in a big way: Activa + Jupiter alone sold over 4.45 lakh units.
- Bajaj Pulsar was the star performer; its 36.8 % growth single-handedly lifted the entire market.
- Hero MotoCorp still dominates volume (Splendor + HF Deluxe = 4.54 lakh units), but Honda is breathing down its neck.
- Rural India powered the growth โ good rains + lower prices = happy farmers buying new bikes and scooters.
