Kia is about to drop its most affordable and smallest electric car ever – the all-new Kia EV2 – and it’s happening on 9 January 2026 at the Brussels Motor Show in Belgium.
The Korean giant just released a couple of official teaser shots, and damn, this little thing looks properly cool. It’s basically the production version of the wild concept they showed off back in February, but now toned down just enough to hit the roads.
This is a proper B-segment crossover, roughly 4 metres long (think slightly smaller than a Stonic or Seltos), built to go head-to-head with the Jeep Avenger Electric, the upcoming Ford Puma Electric, the Renault 4 E-Tech, and whatever else Europe throws into the affordable EV fight.
From the teasers, the EV2 rocks a boxy, upright shape that screams “I’m tough” while actually giving you a surprising amount of room inside. The front end is super vertical with weirdly cool vertical LED headlights and daytime running lights – the same style we’ll soon see on the new-generation Seltos launching 10 December. At the back, the tail lights sit crazy low, almost hidden behind the rear wheels (just like on the new Kia Syros). Big square windows all round make it feel airy and give the driver a proper view out.

Step inside and it’s pure modern Kia: super-clean dashboard, three screens floating in one big panel across the dash, a funky two-spoke steering wheel with the Kia logo slightly off-centre, and mood lighting you can change to whatever colour you’re feeling. Thankfully Kia hasn’t gone full touchscreen madness – stuff you use all the time like climate control, volume, and media will still have proper buttons and knobs so you’re not poking a screen while driving.
Under the skin, you get a front-mounted electric motor. The top version is expected to pump out around 201 horsepower. Power comes from a 58.3 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery that should give you roughly 400 km (250 miles) on the WLTP cycle. If you want more range, Kia will probably offer an optional NMC battery that pushes it closer to 480–500 km (around 300 miles).

The EV2 has been engineered primarily for Europe, which sadly means the price will likely be too high for markets like India. Instead, Indian buyers will get the Kia Syros EV (a different, more affordable model) sometime in the first three months of 2026.
