New Venue Crushes 80,000 Bookings While Creta Remains King

Hyundai Motor India isn’t just surviving the automotive game; they are rewriting the rules. With the new generation Venue flying out of showrooms and the Creta cementing its legacy, Q3 FY26 has proven to be a financial masterclass for the Korean auto giant.

A Sales Tsunami

If you thought the compact SUV market was saturated, think again. The new generation Hyundai Venue has officially stormed the scene, racking up over 80,000 bookings in a little over three months since the order books opened.

Whatโ€™s even more surprising? Nearly 48% of these orders are coming from first-time car buyers. This signals a massive shift people aren’t just looking for a cheap starter car anymore; they want a feature-packed SUV right out of the gate.

Aggressive Pricing and Powertrains

Hyundai has priced the new Venue aggressively, starting at Rs. 7.89 lakh and topping out at Rs. 15.48 lakh (ex-showroom). Itโ€™s not just about the price tag, though; itโ€™s about whatโ€™s under the hood. Drivers have three solid options to choose from:

  • 1.2-Litre MPi Petrol: For the relaxed city commuter.
  • 1.0-Litre Turbo GDi: For those who need that extra punch and adrenaline.
  • 1.5-Litre Diesel: For the mile-munchers who prioritize torque and efficiency.

Bigger, Bolder, and Sharper Design

Forget the old look; the new Venue has hit the gym. Dimensionally, the SUV has grown significantly to offer better road presence:

  • 48 mm Taller: Giving it a more commanding stance.
  • 30 mm Wider: Improving stability and shoulder room.

The visual upgrades are substantial. The front end is dominated by a dark chrome grille and quad-beam headlamps, flanked by slim LED light bars that give it a futuristic look. The side profile features sculpted surfaces, and the bridge-style roof rails add that rugged, outdoorsy character that SUV lovers demand.

A Tech-Heavy Overhaul

Stepping inside the new Venue feels less like a budget SUV and more like a premium lounge. Hyundai has ditched the basics for a comprehensive overhaul:

  • The Screens: A massive pair of 12.3-inch curved displays dominate the dashboard, handling both instrumentation and infotainment.
  • The Vibe: An “H-themed” dashboard layout with a floating center console.
  • The Upholstery: A sophisticated dual-tone combination of Dark Navy and Dove Grey.

ADAS Level 2

Hyundai isn’t taking chances with safety. The Venue now comes equipped with Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS, boasting 16 driver assistance functions. Add in standard 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), four-wheel disc brakes, and TPMS, and you have one of the safest cars in the segment.

Q3 FY26 Performance

While the Venue is grabbing headlines, the companyโ€™s balance sheet is looking equally strong. For the third quarter of FY26, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) reported a solid financial uptick:

  • Revenue: Rs. 179,735 million (Up 8% YoY).
  • EBITDA: Rs. 20,183 million (Up 7.6% YoY).
  • Profit After Tax: Rs. 12,344 million (Up 6.3% YoY).

The wholesale volumes saw a sequential improvement, driven largely by the festive season demand and the price corrections from GST 2.0. When looking at the nine-month period ending December 2025, EBITDA hit Rs. 66,325 million, marking a 3.3% growth over the previous year.

The Undisputed Leader

The Venue might be the new star, but the Creta is still the boss. In the calendar year 2025, the midsize SUV crossed the 2 lakh annual sales mark, reclaiming its throne as the countryโ€™s highest-selling SUV. It proves that despite stiff competition, the Creta brand equity is bulletproof.

Exports and Commercial Fleets

Hyundai is also diversifying its strategy beyond personal cars.

  1. Commercial Entry: The brand has officially entered the commercial mobility space with the Prime HB and SD taxi offerings.
  2. Export Powerhouse: Overseas demand remains a critical pillar for Hyundai, with export volumes jumping 21% Year-on-Year in Q3. Currently, exports account for roughly 25% of Hyundaiโ€™s total sales, proving that Made-in-India Hyundais are in demand globally.

Final Conclusion:

With the Creta holding the fort and the new Venue bringing in 80,000 new customers in a single quarter, Hyundaiโ€™s strategy for 2026 is firing on all cylinders.
