Bajaj Auto achieved a remarkable milestone in August 2025, registering total sales of 417,616 vehicles. This reflects a solid 5% increase compared to the 397,804 units sold in August 2024. While the headline figures are impressive, the real story lies in the contrasting performance of domestic and export markets. Overseas demand powered the growth, while the home market showed mixed results, particularly in two-wheeler sales. As the festive season approaches, Bajajโs strong month-on-month performance, fueled largely by exports, sets an optimistic tone for the future.
Two-Wheeler Performance: Exports Shine, Domestic Market Softens
In the two-wheeler segment, Bajaj Auto recorded sales of 341,887 units in August 2025, marking a modest 2% year-on-year growth. However, this growth masks a significant divergence between domestic and international markets. Domestic sales dropped by 12%, totaling 184,109 units, reflecting cautious consumer sentiment in India. On the other hand, exports surged by an impressive 25%, reaching 157,778 units. This robust overseas demand helped offset the domestic slowdown, showcasing Bajajโs strong global footprint.
Commercial Vehicles Steal the Show
The commercial vehicle (CV) segment was the standout performer for Bajaj Auto in August 2025, with sales soaring to 75,729 unitsโa remarkable 21% increase from the previous year. Exports led the charge, skyrocketing by 58% to 27,440 units, while domestic CV sales grew steadily by 7%, reaching 48,289 units. This balanced growth across both markets highlights the resilience and versatility of Bajajโs commercial vehicle portfolio, a key driver of the companyโs overall success.
Domestic vs. Export Dynamics
When analyzing the combined performance of two- and three-wheelers, the contrast between domestic and export markets becomes even clearer. Total domestic sales across both segments fell by 8% to 232,398 units, signaling softer demand in India. In contrast, exports jumped by 29% to 185,218 units, boosting their share of total monthly sales to 45%, up from 36% in August 2024. This shift underscores Bajajโs growing reliance on international markets to drive volume growth.
Year-to-Date Performance: A Mixed Bag
From April to August 2025, Bajaj Auto sold 1,894,853 units, a 2% increase over the 1,854,029 units sold in the same period of 2024. Domestic sales, however, declined by 9% to 1,050,349 units, while exports grew by a robust 21% to 844,504 units. In the two-wheeler segment, year-to-date sales remained nearly flat at 1,586,925 units, with an 11% drop in domestic dispatches (852,732 units) offset by an 18% rise in exports (734,193 units).
The commercial vehicle segment, however, continued to shine, with year-to-date sales climbing 14% to 307,928 units. Exports in this category surged by 47% to 110,311 units, while domestic sales saw a modest 1% increase to 197,617 units, reflecting stable demand at home and booming interest abroad.

Looking Ahead: Festive Season and Beyond
Bajaj Autoโs performance in August 2025 paints a picture of resilience and opportunity. While domestic sales face challenges, the companyโs strong export growth demonstrates its ability to tap into global demand. With the festive season on the horizon, thereโs potential for a rebound in domestic sentiment, which could further bolster Bajajโs performance. If export momentum continues and festive buying picks up in India, Bajaj Auto is well-positioned for a strong and successful year ahead.
