Kia India has marked a stellar performance in September 2025, selling 22,700 vehicles and achieving a significant 15.8 percent month-on-month growth compared to 19,608 units sold in August 2025. This surge in sales, driven by festive season enthusiasm and revised GST 2.0 tax benefits, highlights Kiaโs growing dominance in the Indian automotive market, particularly in the compact and midsize vehicle segments.
Strong Year-to-Date Performance
From January to September 2025, Kia India recorded a cumulative total of 2,06,582 units sold, reflecting a solid 7.2 percent increase over the 1,92,690 units sold during the same period in 2024. The Sonet compact SUV and the Seltos midsize SUV continue to be the backbone of Kiaโs lineup, consistently driving strong sales figures. The recent expansion of the Carens lineup, including the introduction of the Carens Clavis and its electric variant, has further bolstered the brandโs market performance.
Festive Demand and Tax Benefits Fuel Growth
The implementation of GST 2.0 tax reductions has made Kiaโs vehicles more affordable, significantly boosting customer interest during the festive season. This led to increased footfall at dealerships and higher wholesale numbers in September. Kia capitalized on this momentum by offering attractive discounts, with savings of up to Rs. 2.25 lakh on select models like the Seltos, Carens Clavis, and Carens. These offers, valid until September 22, combined pre-GST benefits of up to Rs. 58,000 with festive discounts reaching Rs. 1.67 lakh, creating a compelling proposition for buyers.
Regionally, Kia tailored its offers to maximize appeal. Customers in Kerala enjoyed the highest discounts, up to Rs. 2.25 lakh, while Tamil Nadu and Karnataka saw benefits of up to Rs. 2 lakh and Rs. 2.1 lakh, respectively. In the northern, eastern, and western regions, discounts reached up to Rs. 1.75 lakh, depending on the model, making September an exceptionally rewarding time for Kia buyers across India.
Expanding Global and Electric Vehicle Presence
Kia India also made strides in the export market, shipping 2,606 units overseas in September 2025. Looking ahead, the company is preparing to launch the electric version of the Syros in 2026, further strengthening its electrified portfolio. Additionally, the next-generation Seltos, spotted undergoing testing, is set to debut with significant interior and exterior updates while retaining its popular 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L diesel, and 1.5L turbo petrol engines.
