Mahindra is about to pull the wildest move in the SUV game. They quietly teased the all-new XUV 7XO today and confirmed itโs making its global debut on 5th January 2026. Yes, you heard that right โ the XUV700 is getting a full glow-up and a new badass name: XUV 7XO.
they did the magic with XUV300 XUV 3XO and made it look ten times hotter and richer. Now theyโre doing the exact same treatment to the big daddy XUV700, but on steroids.
What We Saw in the Teaser (And It Already Looks Insane)
Mahindra dropped a dark, moody teaser video and even in those few seconds your jaw will drop:
- Front gets those sharp boomerang-style LED DRLs (straight copied from the beastly XEV 9e/9S)
- Rear gets full-width connected tail lamps with inverted L-shaped lights โ pure fire at night
- New grille, new bumpers, new alloys, new colours โ the whole works
Outside size and shape? Pretty much the same monster 7-seater body we already love. Same 200 HP mStallion petrol and 185 HP mHawk diesel engines. Same 6-speed manual and auto boxes. No change under the hood, all the madness is inside and on the skin.
The Interior Is Straight From 2030
This is where Mahindra just flexed harder than The Rock:
- Triple-screen dashboard exactly like the XEV 9e and 9S (one for driver, one infotainment, one for passenger)
- Built-in 5G, built-in Alexa, Boss Mode (rear seat king treatment
- Completely new dashboard, new steering, new AC vents, premium materials everywhere
This will be the first petrol/diesel Mahindra ever to get this ultra-luxury triple-screen cockpit. Your current XUV700 will look like a 2010 Corolla the moment you sit inside the 7XO.
Price? Slightly Higher, But Still a Steal
Current XUV700 starts at โน13.66 lakh and goes till โน25.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
The XUV 7XO will cost a little more because itโs basically getting XEV 9e-level swag at half the price, but expect it to still stay under the electric cousins (XEV 9S already starts at โน19.95 lakh with Level-2 ADAS loaded).
The Million-Dollar Question
Will the old XUV700 continue to sell side-by-side, or will Mahindra kill it off the old name completely like they did with XUV300? Nobody knows yet, but knowing Mahindra, theyโll probably run both for a few months and let the 7XO murder the 700 in the showroom.
Final Conclusion
5th January 2026 is about to be a bloodbath. Book your popcorn because Mahindra is coming to destroy Scorpio-N, Safari, Hector Plus, and even its own XUV700 in one clean swing.
If you were planning to buy an XUV700 in the next 6 months โ STOP. Wait 30 days. The XUV 7XO is about to make every other three-row SUV look outdated and cheap overnight
