Mahindra has unveiled its latest SUV model, the XUV 7XO, in the Indian market with starting prices kicking off at Rs. 13.66 lakh before taxes. This vehicle brings a bunch of innovative elements that stand out in its category, and reservations are set to kick off on January 14, 2026. Initial shipments will roll out in phases during the same month for certain models. To build excitement, these entry-level rates apply only to the initial 40,000 units delivered to buyers.

Range of Models and Their Costs

The vehicle comes in multiple versions: AX, AX3, AX5, AX7, AX7T, and AX7L. Higher-end options provide choices between six or seven seats. The basic AX model is limited to a gasoline engine with a stick shift and accommodates seven passengers, beginning at Rs. 13.66 lakh. Moving to the AX3, you get gasoline manual at Rs. 16.02 lakh and diesel manual at Rs. 16.49 lakh.

For the AX5, expect to pay Rs. 17.52 lakh for the gasoline manual or Rs. 17.99 lakh for the diesel manual. The premium AX7 starts the upscale lineup at Rs. 18.48 lakh for gasoline manual and Rs. 18.95 lakh for diesel manual. The AX7T focuses more on diesel but includes both seating setups; its seven-seater diesel manual is Rs. 20.99 lakh, while the six-seater version is Rs. 21.39 lakh.

Automatic gasoline options appear only here, costing Rs. 21.97 lakh for seven seats and Rs. 22.16 lakh for six. At the pinnacle, the AX7L seven-seater diesel manual is Rs. 22.47 lakh, with gasoline auto beginning at Rs. 23.45 lakh. The six-seater AX7L sticks to autos, at Rs. 23.64 lakh for gasoline and Rs. 24.11 lakh for diesel (all figures exclude showroom fees).

On suitable models, opting for the six-speed auto transmission tacks on Rs. 1.45 lakh compared to the manual. All-wheel drive is restricted to diesel engines and adds Rs. 2.45 lakh extra.

Rollout and Availability Plan

Shipments for the AX7, AX7T, and AX7L kick off right away on January 14, 2026, giving priority to those who reserved early. Lower tiers like AX, AX3, and AX5 will start reaching customers from April 2026 onward.

Standout Interior and Tech Highlights

This SUV pioneers a full-width three-screen setup in every model for internal combustion vehicles in India, driven by a powerful eight-core processor from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155P series. It operates on Mahindra’s fresh ADRENOX+ platform, marking it as the company’s inaugural software-driven traditional engine car.

A fresh suspension design called DAVINCI makes its worldwide introduction here, blending adaptive damping with a sophisticated rear linkage for smoother travels. Inside, enjoy enhanced audio-visuals with Dolby’s Vision and Atmos tech, backed by a 16-unit sound system from Harman Kardon.

The interior gets luxurious touches like adjustable electric front chairs with saved positions, a special boss setting for the passenger side, cooling vents for both rows, premium faux leather finishes, adjustable mood lights across zones, and soundproofing glass. Additional perks include a bring-your-own-device entertainment option, cooled dual wireless charging pads, a massive sky roof, pull-down shades at the back, and an advanced control hub.

Powertrain Details and Driving Dynamics

Sticking with reliable units, it uses a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline or 2.2-liter diesel engine. Transmission choices are a six-speed manual or auto with torque conversion. The gasoline manual hits 60 km/h from standstill in less than five seconds. Drivers can select from energetic modes like Zip, Zap, Zoom, or tailor their own.

Comprehensive Protection Measures

Boasting more than 120 protective elements, with 75 as standard on all levels, it includes advanced driver aids at level two with visual alerts, a full-circle camera system with recording, auto-brake hold via electronic means, fatigue monitoring for the driver, and seven safety bags extending to side curtains for the rear. Mahindra states it’s built to achieve top safety ratings under India’s crash testing program.
