MG Motor India has set a new benchmark with its stellar performance in August 2025, achieving domestic sales of 6,578 units. This marks a remarkable 52% year-on-year growth compared to 4,323 units sold in August 2024. Fueled by the festive seasonโs momentum and strong demand for its electric vehicles, the company recorded its highest monthly sales of the year. The MG Windsor EV led the charge, while the entry-level Comet also posted its best wholesale figures for 2025. Hereโs a deep dive into MGโs triumphant month and its expanding footprint.
Windsor EV: Indiaโs Top-Selling Electric Vehicle
The MG Windsor EV solidified its position as Indiaโs best-selling electric vehicle, achieving its highest monthly sales ever in August 2025 with a 5% increase over July 2025. Since its launch, over 40,000 units have been sold, maintaining its dominance as the top passenger EV for 11 consecutive months. This crossover utility vehicle (CUV) is offered under a unique Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan, starting at Rs. 9.99 lakh with a usage cost of Rs. 3.9 per kilometer. For buyers opting for outright purchase, the five-seater starts at Rs. 18.09 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Windsor EV is powered by a 52.9 kWh battery, delivering an ARAI-certified range of 449 kilometers on a single charge. Its electric motor produces 136 PS and 200 Nm of torque, ensuring a spirited driving experience. The cabin is designed for comfort, featuring automatic climate control, adjustable headrests, and lounge-style seats that recline up to 135 degrees. A massive 15.6-inch touchscreen serves as the hub for wireless smartphone connectivity, navigation, and vehicle controls.
This year, MG expanded the Windsor lineup with the introduction of Essence Pro and Exclusive Pro trims. These variants come equipped with advanced features like Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities. The Windsor Pro, under the BaaS plan, is priced at Rs. 13.09 lakh with a running cost of Rs. 4.5 per kilometer for the battery.
Comet EV: A Strong Performer
The MG Comet, the brandโs entry-level electric offering, also had a stellar August 2025, posting a 21% growth in wholesale numbers compared to July 2025. This compact EV continues to attract buyers with its affordability and practicality, contributing significantly to MGโs record-breaking month.

Expanding Reach and Aftersales Support
MG Motor India strengthened its market presence by opening three new dealerships in August 2025, bringing its network to over 543 sales and service outlets across 270 cities, covering more than 90% of the country. To enhance customer satisfaction, the company has strategically placed service centers within a 15-kilometer radius, ensuring most customers can access assistance in under 30 minutes. This focus on aftersales support underscores MGโs commitment to a seamless ownership experience.
