Nissan has officially scheduled the first look of its latest small car for December 18. This upcoming model is positioned as a value-focused family vehicle and will stand as the brand’s most accessible multi-purpose van in the Indian market. It is built on a platform developed specifically for local conditions.
A Fresh Contender in a Crowded Market
While several upmarket sport utility vehicles like the Mahindra XUV300, Tata Sierra, and Kia Seltos are making headlines, Nissan is charting a different course. The brand is introducing an economically priced people carrier aimed at large families seeking practicality without a hefty price tag.
Design and Platform: Shared Roots with a French Partner
Though Nissan has kept the official name under wraps, preview images and test mule sightings strongly indicate this model is a sibling to the Renault Triber. Engineered with strict affordability in mind, the Nissan variant will share its core structure and many interior trim pieces with its Renault counterpart.
To establish its own identity, the Nissan model will sport a redesigned front fascia. On the security front, the new Nissan people mover is likely to come well-prepared. Standard safety kit should comprise six airbags, an Electronic Stability Program, Hill Start Assist, Traction Control, along with a rear-view camera and sensors for parking at both ends.
