Royal Enfield, a name synonymous with timeless cruiser and adventure motorcycles, is venturing into uncharted waters by introducing electric and hybrid bikes. As a pioneer among major Indian two-wheeler manufacturers, the Chennai-based brand is embracing cutting-edge technology with its upcoming lineup. This includes two electric motorcycles under the Flying Flea badge, a 250cc hybrid model, and an electrified version of the iconic Himalayan, tentatively called the HIM-E. Below, we explore these groundbreaking machines set to redefine Royal Enfieldโs legacy in 2025-26.
1. Flying Flea C6: A Neo-Retro Electric Marvel
The Flying Flea C6 made its grand debut as a concept at EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. In 2025, it captivated audiences in Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru. This electric motorcycle, spotted undergoing rigorous cold-weather testing in Ladakh, is poised to enter production. The C6 is slated to be unveiled in its final form at EICMA 2025, with sales expected to commence in India by the first quarter of 2026.
Built on the innovative L platform, the Flying Flea C6 sports a neo-retro aesthetic, blending vintage charm with modern engineering. It features lightweight alloy wheels fitted with road-oriented tires, ensuring agility. The extensive use of aluminum keeps the bikeโs weight low, enhancing efficiency. A standout feature is the forged aluminum Girder fork front suspension, a nod to the original Flying Flea from the 1940s, merging heritage with futuristic design.
2. Flying Flea S6: The Electric Scrambler
Unveiled alongside the C6 at EICMA 2024, the Flying Flea S6 is Royal Enfieldโs take on an electric scrambler. Spied testing in Ladakh, it boasts spoke wheels wrapped in off-road tires, perfect for rugged terrains. The S6, also based on the L platform, incorporates scrambler-specific elements like a distinct front fender, ergonomic handlebar, and a robust instrument cluster designed for adventure enthusiasts.
While detailed specifications remain undisclosed, Royal Enfield has confirmed that the S6 will feature a fixed battery pack with fast-charging capabilities. Expected to rival the performance of a 350cc internal combustion engine bike, the S6 is projected to offer a range of 150-200 kilometers on a single charge, making it a versatile choice for urban and off-road riders alike.
3. Royal Enfield 250cc Hybrid: Efficiency Meets Affordability
Royal Enfield is developing a game-changing 250cc hybrid motorcycle, codenamed the V platform, aimed at delivering exceptional fuel efficiency of over 50 kilometers per liter. The company is collaborating with CFMoto, a Chinese manufacturer known for its midsize engines, to craft a 250cc hybrid engine compliant with BS6 Phase II emission standards and the upcoming CAFE regulations effective from 2027.
Positioned as Royal Enfieldโs most affordable offering, this hybrid motorcycle is expected to start at approximately Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom), undercutting the current entry-level Hunter 350, priced at Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The 250cc hybrid is likely to hit the market by late 2026, appealing to budget-conscious riders seeking eco-friendly performance.
