This period, known for its auspiciousness, sees a surge in car purchases, prompting major brands to unveil their latest models to capture the festive demand. Hereโ€™s a detailed look at six unique car launches set to make waves in India this September, each designed to stand out in the crowded market.

1 & 2. VinFast VF6 and VF7: Electrifying Entries from Vietnam

VinFast, the dynamic Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, is gearing up to enter the Indian market with a bang on September 6, 2025, launching two electric SUVs: the VF6 and VF7. These models are poised to shake up the electric vehicle segment with their competitive specs and pricing.

  • VinFast VF6: This compact e-SUV is set to compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta EV, MG ZS EV, and Mahindra BE 6. Equipped with a 59.6 kWh battery, it offers an impressive range of 480 km per charge. Priced between Rs 20-25 lakh (ex-showroom), it combines affordability with advanced electric performance.
  • VinFast VF7: Aiming at a slightly higher segment, the VF7 will take on rivals like the Tata Harrier EV and Mahindra XEV 9e. With a 70.8 kWh battery, it delivers a solid 450 km range. Expected to be priced between Rs 25-30 lakh (ex-showroom), it promises premium features for the discerning buyer.

Both SUVs are being manufactured locally at VinFastโ€™s state-of-the-art facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Bookings for these models began on July 15, 2025, with a modest token amount of Rs 21,000, signaling strong early interest.

The Escudo is expected to be larger than the popular Grand Vitara, sharing its platform and powertrain options, including a cutting-edge strong hybrid system.
