Skoda is taking big steps to build its reputation as a brand that delivers thrilling driving experiences in the Indian market. The company is preparing to offer two powerful RS models at the same time for the very first time. The highlight is the all-new Kodiaq RS, which will arrive soon, while enthusiasts can also look forward to another limited batch of the much-loved Octavia RS.

Kodiaq RS Makes Its India Debut Soon

Skoda has officially confirmed that the second-generation Kodiaq RS will launch in India between April and June 2026. This marks the first time this high-performance SUV will be available here. The vehicle will come as a completely built unit (CBU) imported directly from Skoda’s plant in Kvasiny, Czech Republic.

Powerful Engine and Quick Performance Numbers

At the heart of the Kodiaq RS sits the advanced fourth-generation EA888 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. This same power unit powers the Octavia RS and the Volkswagen Golf GTI, though it receives a unique tune for the SUV. It generates 261 horsepower (195 kW) from 5,000 to 6,500 rpm and delivers 400 Nm of torque between 1,650 and 4,350 rpm.

A smooth 7-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox pairs with an intelligent all-wheel-drive setup to put the power on the road effectively.

Globally, buyers can choose five-seat or seven-seat layouts, but Indian customers will most likely get only the practical seven-seat option.

The lighter five-seat version reaches 0-100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, while the seven-seater completes the sprint in 6.4 seconds. Both variants carry an electronic speed limiter set at 231 km/h.

For confident stopping, the SUV uses large 335 mm ventilated discs up front with twin-piston calipers and 310 mm discs at the rear with single-piston calipers.

Standout Looks and Sporty Features

The Kodiaq RS gets aggressive styling upgrades that set it apart from regular models. These include sharper front and rear bumpers, exclusive 20-inch Elias alloy wheels, a sporty exhaust system with twin visible tailpipes, and plenty of glossy black exterior trim.

In international markets, it comes with sophisticated DCC Plus adaptive suspension for better handling and comfort. However, since Skoda skipped the regular DCC system on the Octavia RS sold in India, it is unclear whether the local Kodiaq RS will include this advanced feature.

One key difference from the Octavia RS is that the Kodiaq RS does not include an electronic limited-slip differential.

Octavia RS Returns with Another Limited Batch

The Octavia RS shares the same 2.0-litre engine, producing identical 261 hp and 400 Nm. However, peak power arrives a bit higher at 5,250-6,500 rpm, and maximum torque is available from 1,600-4,500 rpm.

It matches the seven-seat Kodiaq RS with a 0-100 km/h time of 6.4 seconds but offers a higher limited top speed of 250 km/h.

Skoda brought only 100 units in the first round, and the upcoming second batch will probably stay equally exclusive. Expect pricing to remain close to the earlier figure of around Rs 49.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

With these two RS models, Skoda clearly wants Indian buyers to experience genuine European performance engineering in both sedan and SUV formats. The limited availability will make them even more desirable for enthusiasts looking for something special on Indian roads.
