TVS Motor Company has achieved a historic milestone, crossing the monumental mark of five lakh units sold in a single month for the first time ever. In August 2025, the company recorded an impressive 5,09,536 units sold, reflecting a remarkable 30% year-on-year growth compared to 3,91,588 units in August 2024. This unprecedented performance has positioned TVS as a formidable player in the automotive industry, setting the stage for a stellar festive season.
Two-Wheeler Segment Drives Growth
The two-wheeler division was the cornerstone of this success, with sales soaring from 3,78,841 units in August 2024 to 4,90,788 units in August 2025, marking a robust 30% increase. Within the domestic market, two-wheeler sales surged by 28%, rising from 2,89,073 units to 3,68,862 units. The Hosur-based manufacturerโs popular models, including the Apache series, Jupiter, Raider, and the electric iQube, have been pivotal in driving these numbers, resonating strongly with Indian consumers.
New Launches Fuel Momentum
Capitalizing on this demand, TVS is gearing up to unveil the Ntorq 150 in India today, while the recently launched Orbiter e-scooter, priced at Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom), has already generated significant buzz. The motorcycle segment contributed 2,21,870 units, up 30% from last year, while scooters saw an even stronger 36% growth, reaching 2,22,296 units. These figures underscore TVSโs ability to cater to diverse consumer preferences with its dynamic product lineup.
Electric Vehicle Challenges and Opportunities
In the electric vehicle (EV) segment, TVS recorded 25,138 units sold in August 2025, a marginal increase from 24,779 units the previous year. However, the company faced supply chain hurdles, particularly with magnet availability, which slightly hampered EV growth. Despite these challenges, TVS remains committed to expanding its electric portfolio to meet the rising demand for sustainable mobility.
Exports and Three-Wheeler Success
TVSโs global footprint also strengthened, with exports surging 35% to 1,35,367 units in August 2025, compared to 99,976 units the previous year. Two-wheeler exports alone jumped 36%, from 89,768 units to 1,21,926 units, reflecting strong international demand. Additionally, the three-wheeler segment saw an impressive 47% growth, with sales climbing from 12,747 units to 18,748 units, further diversifying TVSโs market presence.
