1. Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzukiโs very first electric car, named e Vitara, will hit showrooms in December 2025. The vehicle made its debut at the 2025 Auto Expo, and assembly has already started at the companyโs plant in Gujarat. 2. Mahindra
Mahindra is bringing Indiaโs first mass-market 7-seater electric SUV in 2026. Called the XEV 7e, it rides on the INGLO platform and uses the same 59 kWh and 79 kWh batteries found in the BE 6 and XEV 9e. Inside, youโll see the same triple-screen dashboard layout as the XEV 9e.
Also slated for 2026 is the BE Rall-E, a tough off-road take on the BE 6. It gets rugged bumpers, all-terrain tyres, and most likely all-wheel drive powered by dual electric motors.
3. Hyundai
Hyundai plans a compact electric SUV built specifically for India in 2027. The model draws inspiration from the global Inster EV and sits on the E-GMP (K) platform. It will compete directly with the Tata Punch and come packed with Level 2 ADAS, over-the-air software updates, and other modern tech.
Two additional affordable EVs are under consideration: electric versions of the Grand i10 Nios and Venue, aimed at rivals like the Tata Tiago EV and Nexon EV.

Visually, changes will be minorโnew alloy wheels and EV badges. Two battery sizes are planned, offering a top range of roughly 400 km per charge.
5. Tata Motors
Tata currently dominates Indiaโs EV sales chart. The Sierra EV is the next model in line, scheduled for a January 2026 debut. It may borrow battery packs from the Harrier EV, though exact details remain under wraps.
