Kia is set to bring a wave of fresh vehicles to India over the next two years, ranging from electrified compact SUVs to revamped bestsellers and a brand-new seven-seater. Here’s a detailed look at whatโs coming.
1. Kia Syros Electric SUV
Kia is gearing up to launch the Syros EV, a compact electric SUV, in India within the next few months. Recently spotted during testing, this model will mark Kiaโs second mainstream electric vehicle in the country, following the Carens Clavis EV, which debuted at Rs. 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Syros EV will sport a sleek design with subtle tweaks like unique alloy wheels and EV-specific emblems. Itโs expected to offer two battery options, delivering a range of approximately 400 kilometers on a single charge, making it a practical choice for urban commuters and eco-conscious buyers.
2. Next-Generation Kia Seltos
Codenamed SP3i, the second-generation Kia Seltos is slated for a global reveal by late 2025, with an Indian launch expected in 2026. This updated midsize SUV will introduce a strong-hybrid powertrain, blending a 1.5-liter petrol engine with an electric motor for enhanced efficiency. Traditional petrol and diesel engines will also remain available.
The new Seltos will feature a bold exterior redesign, a revamped interior with premium materials, and a host of advanced features, positioning it as a strong contender in the competitive SUV market.
3. All-New Kia Sonet
The next-generation Kia Sonet, a popular subcompact SUV, is under development and likely to hit Indian roads in 2027. While details are limited, expect a striking new look, a more upscale cabin, and a suite of modern features inspired by Kiaโs latest models like the Syros.
The powertrain lineup is expected to carry forward the current 1.2-liter petrol, 1.0-liter turbo-petrol, and 1.5-liter diesel engines, ensuring versatility for different driving preferences.
