VinFast, a prominent electric vehicle manufacturer, has officially entered the Indian market with the introduction of its VF6 and VF7 electric SUVs. These eco-friendly vehicles mark the companyโs debut in India, with production kicking off at its new facility in Tamil Nadu. The vehicles are initially imported as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units, with plans to expand the lineup in the coming years. Bookings for both models are now open through VinFastโs official website and online platforms.
Pricing and Variants
The VF6 starts at an attractive price of Rs. 16.49 lakh for its entry-level variant. The VF7, positioned as a more premium offering, is priced between Rs. 20.89 lakh and Rs. 25.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Both models are available in multiple trims to cater to diverse customer preferences.
VinFast VF6: Compact Yet Stylish
The VF6 is a compact electric SUV with a length of 4,238 mm, a width of 1,820 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. It offers a practical boot space of 423 liters, making it ideal for urban families. Its exterior design stands out with a sleek, coupe-inspired silhouette, a connected LED tail light bar, and distinctive V-shaped LED daytime running lights.
The VF6 is offered in three trims: Earth, Wind, and Wind Infinity. All variants are powered by a 59 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The Earth trim delivers 174 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, while the Wind and Wind Infinity trims boost performance to 204 horsepower and 310 Nm. According to WLTP standards, the VF6 offers a range of 399 km for the Eco variant and 381 km for the Plus variant. With DC fast charging, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes.
VinFast VF7: Premium Features and Performance
The VF7 is a more upscale electric SUV, packed with advanced features and superior performance. It is equipped with a 75.3 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP-certified range of up to 451 km in its standard configuration, which produces 201 horsepower and 309 Nm of torque. The Plus variant, designed for performance enthusiasts, delivers an impressive 348 horsepower and 499 Nm of torque, with a slightly reduced range of 431 km.
The VF7โs interior is centered around a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Google apps, voice commands, and smartphone integration. Additional premium features include ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting, and a comprehensive safety package with seven airbags and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The ADAS suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and other cutting-edge technologies.
