Kia has officially introduced its newest electric vehicle, the EV2, at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show. This small SUV marks Kia’s sixth dedicated electric model and becomes the smallest in their EV lineup. It is built primarily for easy daily driving in cities, yet the company designed it to feel surprisingly spacious and comfortable inside, just like a larger car.

The EV2 appeals to people buying their first electric car or families needing a reliable, high-quality vehicle that does not cost a fortune. It aims to sell in large numbers across many countries.

Bold and Modern Exterior Design

The EV2 follows Kia’s popular “Opposites United” design approach, blending strong SUV features with clean, contemporary touches. It has a tall, confident stance, wide wheel arches, and sharp lines along the sides that make it look powerful on the road.

Vertical headlights stand out at the front, along with Kia’s latest “Star Map” lighting pattern that gives it a unique glow. The rear features broad taillights and carefully shaped body panels for added style.

Buyers can choose the sporty GT Line version, which adds aggressive bumpers, exclusive wheel designs, and color-matched details for an even more dynamic appearance.

Spacious and Welcoming Interior

Kia calls the cabin design the “Picnic Box” style, creating a bright and relaxed atmosphere perfect for everyday use. A large continuous digital screen stretches across the dashboard, including:

  • A 12.3-inch display for driving information
  • A 5-inch panel for climate controls
  • Another 12.3-inch touchscreen for music, navigation, and apps

Soft fabrics cover many surfaces, while horizontal lines make the space feel wider. Mood lighting, simple physical buttons, and plenty of smart storage spots add convenience and comfort.

Battery Choices and Driving Range

The Kia EV2 offers two battery options to suit different needs:

  • A 42.2 kWh pack that delivers up to 317 kilometers of range on a single charge (WLTP standard)
  • A larger 61.0 kWh pack providing up to 448 kilometers of range

Both versions support quick charging, reaching from 10% to 80% battery in roughly 29 to 30 minutes at a fast charger. This makes long trips or daily commutes much easier.

Smart Technology and Practical Details

The EV2 includes several useful modern features:

  • An EV route planner that finds charging stops automatically
  • Plug & Charge capability for seamless payments
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function to power external devices like gadgets or appliances

Rear seats slide forward and backward and recline, offering up to 958 millimeters of legroom โ€” excellent for a small SUV. With seats moved forward, the trunk provides 403 liters of cargo space. A generous front storage compartment (frunk) adds even more practicality.

At the same Brussels show, Kia also displayed high-performance GT variants of the EV3, EV4 hatchback, and EV5 models.

As an affordable, city-friendly electric SUV with impressive range and features, the EV2 looks set to attract many new buyers to electric driving.
