BMW F 450 GS Motorrad has just revealed the ready-for-market edition of its F 450 GS during the EICMA event in 2025. This adventure bike steps in as the fresh starter option in the company’s GS lineup, replacing the now-retired G 310 GS. Although exact release dates remain undisclosed, anticipation builds for its arrival in India soon.

Local Production and Market Expectations

A key highlight is that this latest BMW adventure machine will be assembled locally by TVS at their plant in Hosur, India. Sales are projected to kick off toward the close of 2025 or the beginning of 2026, making it more accessible for enthusiasts in the region.

Engine Performance and Transmission Details

At the heart of the F 450 GS lies a 420cc parallel-twin engine with liquid cooling, delivering 47.5 horsepower and 43 Newton-meters of maximum torque. Paired with a six-speed transmission, it incorporates BMW’s Shift Assistant Pro for seamless gear changes without clutching, covering both upward and downward shifts.

Additionally, the Easy Ride Clutch system removes the hassle of using the clutch handle in any scenario, whether launching from a stop, shifting during travel, or tackling rugged terrain. This convenience comes built-in on the Trophy model.

Variant Options and Customization

Buyers can choose from four distinct versions: Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and Trophy. The Basic serves as the entry point, escalating to the premium Trophy at the top end.

Suspension and Chassis Setup

For handling, the bike features 43mm upside-down forks from KYB up front and a single shock absorber at the back, offering 180mm of travel. The Sport and Trophy editions upgrade to a performance-tuned suspension with tunable rebound and compression settings.

Braking System and Wheel Configuration

Stopping power comes from a 310mm floating disc with a four-piston Brembo caliper on the front wheel, complemented by a 240mm disc and single-piston caliper at the rear. It rolls on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination, fitted with tubeless spoked rims for durability.

Fuel Efficiency and Range

With a 14-liter fuel reservoir, riders can expect to cover more than 350 kilometers on a single fill-up, ideal for long-distance explorations.

Riding Modes and Safety Features

Standard across the board are three selectable modes: Rain for slippery conditions, Road for everyday use, and Enduro for off-pavement adventures. Safety tech includes advanced ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control to enhance stopping, Dynamic Traction Control for grip management, and Motor Slip Regulation to prevent rear wheel lockup.

Ergonomics and Seating Choices

The standard setup includes a split seat at 845mm height. Optional lower (830mm) or higher (860mm) seats can be added to suit different rider preferences.

Technology and Lighting Innovations

On the gadget side, a generous 6.5-inch color TFT screen dominates the dashboard, joined by a USB-C charging port nearby. The front illumination uses LED technology with a distinctive “X”-shaped daytime running light for better visibility and style.
